Morgenster Estate’s continued commitment to consistently producing extra virgin olive oils of premium quality has once again been recognised by the industry, both locally and internationally. At the recent FLOS OLEI International Competition Morgenster Estate was the only South African EVOO producer to score 99 points (for the fifth consecutive year) at this prestigious event.
This international competition aims to enhance the quality of extra virgin olive oil at an international level, rewarding the best products, and in doing so educating the consumer about these premium quality extra virgin olive oils. The panel, coordinated by Marco Oreggia, includes Italian and international expert tasters.
The results are then compiled into a beautifully presented international guide dedicated solely to extra virgin olive oil. The guide includes the 500 best olive oil farms in the world from as many as 56 countries, with Morgenster Estate, being one of them.
Closer to home, Morgenster Estate was awarded Gold medals for both their Don Carlo Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Morgenster Extra Virgin Olive Oil, at the recent SA Olive Awards. Yet again a testament to their commitment in producing EVOO’s of the highest quality.
Judged by an expert panel of international and local judges, the main objective of the SA Olive Awards is to give official recognition to the country’s EVOO producers’ outstanding commitment and continual pursuit of excellence.
